OTTAWA, ON – With the 2021 season wrapped up, Archery Canada’s high performance program is now looking towards 2022. One of the biggest events on the horizon is the Youth and Masters Pan Am Championships at the beginning of June, which is being hosted for the first time on Canadian soil in Halifax.

To find the best youth archers to represent Canada at this event, there will be a selection camp hosted in Prince Edward Island in mid-March 2022. This will be used in coordination with the selection documents to determine which archers will wear the maple leaf in Halifax. This selection camp will also be used as an official test event for the Canada Winter Games, which are also being hosted by PEI in 2023. Recurve and Compound archers in the U21 and U18 age categories will be eligible to participate.

Archery Canada’s High Performance Leadership is partnering with the provinces and territories who will each be able to field a team of athletes for the selection camp. AC will then nominate any additional athletes it deems appropriate.

In conjunction with the camp, the Archery Canada Technical Leadership and the Coaching Committee will be hosting an in-person seminar series for PTSO coaches at the event and any NCCP Certified Coaches that wish to attend.
